Yet modern plastic holders have overtaken the role of these porcelain electrical accessories.
Plastic lamp holders offered by Electric accessories possess same aspects yet they are cheaper to manufacture and are light weighted, which makes installation less complex.
Here we got few steps to replace your porcelain lamp holders with plastic Electrical accessories:

First is to switch off the primary electricity supply to the lamp at the breaker board.
-
Uproot the mounting screws that acquire holder on to the electrical box. Pull your lamp downward until it swings from the wires.
-
Ensure that your lamp holder does not pass current. You can use the leads of voltage tester on the lamp holder’s wires and make sure the test light should not glow.
-
Remove all the wires from your lamp holder. There will be two wires- white and black. If one of the wires splits as it being uprooted, strip nearly 1/4th inch of filling from the wire with a tool knife. Twist the wire into a fastener shape.
-
Append the wires onto modern plastic holder. These Electrical accessories are easily available at hardware stores. Fix the black wire into copper colored terminal and white into the silver one. Fasten the wires beneath the screw’s flared head so that the hook conveniently covers around the screw post. Ensure that it is fastened in a clockwise way as this is the way the screw will be twisted.
-
Tightly turn your screws to avoid loose connections. When tightened, replace your old electrical accessory, i.e. porcelain lamp holder on the electrical board and tight all the mounting screws. Place a lamp bulb into the socket and turn the breaker on.
